Day 2: Texys presents infrared, fiber optics and wireless communication for measuring solutions
Texys Group

Texys Group is at the expo presenting its solutions for measuring physical quantities, including pressure, load, temperature, current and inertia. Leveraging technologies such as infrared, fiber optics and wireless communication, Texys designs, develops and distributes embedded and laboratory measurement solutions.
A key highlight is the offering from the company’s subsidiary, Optel-Texys, which specializes in advanced optical sensing solutions. Returning exhibitor Jean-Philippe Godin, sales engineer at Optel-Texys, outlined the company’s presence at the expo: “We have been attending the show for many years as Optel-Texys, and we are now presenting all Texys Group activities. As a manufacturer of embedded sensing solutions, we serve many industries and have been developing high-end, class-leading devices for automotive applications, whether for motorsport or for mass-market vehicles. Being an international event, Automotive Testing Expo is the perfect venue for us to showcase our extensive range of sensors.”

Optel-Texys is featuring the OF-C2T, an embedded tool for torque calculation that combines fiber-optic tachometers with a dedicated proprietary algorithm, as well as its fiber-optic angular velocity sensors. These sensors have demonstrated high accuracy as tachometers, making them ideal for analyzing complex rotating parts.

“Using fiber optic allows for the extraction of electronics from rough environments when temperature, dust, vibration, liquid and electromagnetic fields can cause trouble. In this case, the sensor stands nearby the DAQ system to avoid these aging conditions and to limit the length of the electric cable,” explained Godin.

“Applications are more linked with rotating machinery such as turbines, powertrains and electric engines; industries are mainly those linked with transportation (automotive, aerospace, naval) and power plants.”
Another product on display is the 152 G7-E, a lightweight, embedded solution specifically developed for in-vehicle measurement applications on land, at sea, or in the air. Godin continued, “Based on what makes Optel-Texys sensors accurate and reliable, this new design has a first goal: reducing the size and the weight of the electronics. The first step is removing the external potentiometer which leads to developing an automatic adjustment of the detection parameters via the analog electronic board. The other modification is to use a bayonet fixture instead of hand screws, which allows reducing the head size, decreasing the time to fix the probe and ensuring a secure mounting.”

Visitors to Booth 8456 can explore how Texys Group and Optel-Texys are pushing the boundaries of measurement technology, providing precise and reliable solutions for a wide range of testing environments.
