At the concurrent free-to-attend Open Technology Forum, Per Rasmussen, Chief technology officer at GRAS Sound & Vibration, will present the results of the company’s study in cooperation with Volvo Cars. The study, which was conducted in connection with the development of a surface microphone for automotive NVH, aimed to improve the measurement procedure for engine noise reduction to be able to better compare and evaluate different vehicle configurations across different platforms, independent of operator-induced differences. The transducer is specifically designed for easy and repeatable mounting inside the confined space of an engine compartment and was tested for localization accuracy. The 147AX CCP Rugged Pressure Microphone can also be used in hot engine testing and high-vibration track testing.
