Testing hardware manufacturer Coesfeld and software developer Endurica are teaming up to launch a range of fatigue testing instruments geared toward the durability testing of elastomers. With software packages such as fe-safe/Rubber and Endurica CL running on Coesfeld instruments, each package analyzes one or more of the fundamental behaviors governing elastomer fatigue performance. This includes instruments for measuring rubber’s fatigue crack growth rate curve, strain crystallization effect, crack precursor size and strain-life curve. The instruments are available globally through Coesfeld distributors and will be offered in the Americas by Endurica.

Based on the Lake and Yeoh procedure, the Intrinsic Strength Analyzer (ISA) measures cutting forces on an instrumented blade of controlled sharpness and indicates the threshold fracture mechanical strength of a polymer network. The Tear & Fatigue Analyzer (TFA) measures crack growth under dynamic loading cycles. Finally, the Instrumented Chip & Cut Analyzer (ICCA) measures chip and cut resistance of rubber compounds under cyclic impact loadings.
