Multifunctional measurement and control modules

With the updated ‘X’ version of its Q.series, Gantner is making its measurement and control modules even more multifunctional by adding new types to the flexible system. The Q.series X stacks together input modules that are all fundamentally the same but come with different connectors. Gantner is now introducing modules that can take eight quarter-, half- or full-bridge strain gauges, 16 quarter-bridge gauges, eight thermocouples or eight voltages.

There are modules for almost all sensors, and bridge modules are available for strain gauges and inductive sensors. They are also suitable for DC and carrier frequency excitation, with the latter switchable between 4,800Hz and 600Hz.

The high-isolation modules have inputs for voltage, thermocouples, Pt100, NTC, IEPE sensors, current and half- and full-bridge strain gauges. All high-voltage modules provide 1,200V DC isolation channel-to-channel and to power.

The new digital modules are equipped with inputs for frequency, quadrature and up/down counter, PWM and specialized features such as missing teeth detection and the chronos method.
