New dummy
Kistler Instrument Corporation - Booth 9036
After supplying the instrumentation and data acquisition systems for crash test dummies for years, Kistler is now also introducing a THOR-50TH-compliant crash test dummy. The THOR-DTI system comes equipped with the compact DTI375.TH crash recorder, which features 288 channels, flash data memory and an integrated start/record function. It is able to record up to 180 seconds, which Kistler claims is more than any other crash data recorder. The dummy is a male model that complies with the NHTSA NCAP and EuroNCAP’s specification for the Standard Build Level A.
In recent years, Kistler has dramatically increased its expertise in the development and production of crash test dummies. The first prototype dummy was built in June 2017; only a couple of months later, it completed the expansion of its dummy certification laboratory, holding the first successful sled tests in November 2017. Kistler is also investing in an extension of its test laboratory as well as expanding its production site in Heidelberg, Germany.
