Long-lasting electrohydraulic servo valves

Star Hydraulics Ltd will be showcasing its updated electrohydraulic servo valve (EHSV) range for hydraulic automotive test rigs.
The EHSVs receive the latest iteration of the company’s Sapphire Technology, which encompasses a ball-in-slot arrangement that has no cavities in which fine particulates carried in the fluid can collect, thus reducing the lapping effect between ball and slot that would normally accelerate mechanical wear.
In addition, the spool is not captive in the feedback mechanism, avoiding the possibility of shear load on the wire created when flow forces apply torque to the spool. Finally, spool rotation actively reduces silting at the control ports and also increases the life of the metering edges when full annular ports are not utilized in the sleeve. The company makes new EHSVs that promise a long service life, in addition to being serviceable.
