VPG Micro-Measurements - Booth 6022L
Micro-Measurements has launched its latest S5198 strain gauges, which feature minimized non-uniform PCA strain gradient effects and reliable operation up to 200°C, in addition to a resistance specification of 350 Ω, which the company claims is best in class. This high resistance reduces unwanted self-heating and heat dissipation effects.
The S5198, which is available in two designations, has a smaller footprint, with a grid length of .36mm. The smaller size makes it easier to place and integrate the target board. The new strain gauges also come with Teflon-insulated flexible thin cables of three twisted wires per grid. The wires are color coded, stripped and tinned for ease of PCB wire routing and connection to data acquisition systems. Apart from PCB testing, the S5198 strain gauges are also suitable for ball grid array (BGA) component testing, spherical bend testing, mechanical shock testing, PCB flexures and in-circuit testing (ICT).
