Sushanta Das

Sushanta has nearly two decades of experiences in wireless communications and intelligent transportation systems research, innovation and development activities. He joined ACM as technical director in 2022. In this role, he delivers technical leadership and technology and research program management for government- and corporate-funded programs. He manages the integration of evolving testing and validation support systems into ACM facilities to create a safe, sustainable and secure mobility system. Prior to joining ACM, Sushanta led advanced connectivity technologies at Stellantis. He has led many collaborative projects with industry and academia on ADAS, CAV and EV during his current and prior employments at Ford Motors, Hyundai and General Motors. Sushanta is currently a senior member of IEEE and a fellow of IETE (India). He has (co)authored and contributed to several US patents and many research publications. He received his MSc and PhD in electrical engineering from University of Texas and his BTech in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay.

Future automotive testing – a holistic view

The American Center for Mobility is a one-of-a-kind global development center in SE Michigan. Its state-of-the-art facilities enable it to be involved in testing & development of ADAS/AVs, EVs, V2X infrastructure and interoperability, as well as utilizing the most advanced simulation, data & engineering tools. Serving the entire automotive ecosystem, it is involved in almost every stage in automotive testing towards safe, secure and sustainable mobility. Drawing from examples real test cases conducted at ACM, Sushanta will discuss the most recent advances in testing technologies and practices, along with ACM’s view of what the future holds for automotive testing and how to address the challenges it will bring.
